Haunted Violin Book Cover

The scope of this project was to create an extraordinary image of an object through photography. We were to implement lighting and consider different backgrounds depending on what mood we wanted to capture for the cover. I chose to explore the violin. Usually, it has a very romantic feel to it. I created an image that looks haunting and mysterious by reducing the lighting and using a dark background to photograph. The image was captured with a Sony a7 digital camera.

I chose, The Haunted Violin by Rebecca J. Reddy, to accompany my image. The book is about two boys from a small town who walk by a well-known abandoned house and hear the screeching sounds of a violin. A dare is issued, betting one of the boys would be too scared to go in and grab the violin. Mysteries start to unfold as they uncover the truth behind the sounds that have come from the abandoned house.
