Haunted House Brochure
The Haunted House brochure was a project for COMM130 Visual Media. The project consisted of choosing a topic, brochure type, and printing the final brochure. We were asked to push our design skills and encouraged to break the rules as long as we did it deliberately.
The design was created in the Adobe program InDesign and photography edits were made in Photoshop. Multiple layered backgrounds were used and faded to create the background texture. I used a tetradic color scheme and accompanied with an offset font to match the feel of the brochure. I purposely used capital letters for the headings to create tension. My favorite part of the brochure was constructing the house and moon using masks in Photoshop and using InDesign to wrap text around the images.
Printing posed a challenge getting the two halves of the gatefold to meet perfectly. I brought my laptop to the printers and did multiple test prints until I could get the alignment of the gatefold perfect.
